Final Fantasy Tactics Battleground (FFTBG) Beginner's Guide Part Two

Hold on there! Now let's discuss how we can earn !exp for more skills!

If you want to choose a team to support in the next tournament, you can type: !allegiance {team} This will let you earn points for that team even if you don’t join the tournament yourself.

If you want to see what kind of bonuses you can get for your class or your skill, you can type: !bonus or !last, This will show you which class/skill will provide a experience and priority bonus.

You can keep leveling up as much as you want, but after Level 100, you won’t get any more free skills or extra money. Instead, you will be able to !buyrandom skills with your money (the more you level up, the cheaper they will be). This means that at Level 100, you will have 500G more money than usual and 34 free skills to use.“

As you play the game, you’ll earn experience points (EXP) by meeting certain conditions. When you earn 100 EXP, you’ll level up and get rewards like an increase in your minimum amount of Gil (in-game currency) and a free random skill every few levels.

You can check your progress by using the command !exp.

There are three ways to earn EXP:

  1. Wagering
    • You earn EXP for winning a wager.
    • The amount of EXP you earn depends on the size of your wager, the time it took you to place your wager, and your position among all wagers.
    • Your wager must be at least half of your current balance.
    • You must place your wager within the first 30 seconds without changing it.
    • Your wager must be among the top 25% of all wagers.
  2. Generating units
    • You earn 5 EXP by default if a unit that you generate wins a match.
    • You can earn additional EXP for using certain classes and skills.
    • You can also earn a penalty for using certain skills too often.
  3. Allied team wins
    • If your tournament entry isn't admitted, you will earn 1 EXP (3 EXP for subscribers) each time your allied team wins.

Once you reach Level 100 and have obtained every skill, you can ascend to a new level of prestige. This is like starting a new game, but you keep your Gil Floor and learn a new Hidden Skill.

Hidden Skills are very powerful, but they are also unstable. They count as rare skills for priority purposes, and are forgotten upon use. However, you have a chance to remember them again each time you level up.

When you ascend, your Gil, EXP, and skills are all reset. You can check the number of times you've ascended and your rewards with the command !prestige.

Ascension is a big decision. You should think carefully about whether you want to start over before doing so. But if you're up for the challenge, simply use the command !prestige ascend.
